Joseph M. Kemp is a corporate lawyer and multidisciplinary leader with a passion for innovation, technology, fashion, gaming, and education. As CEO of Games That Matter, he created DISBARRED: The Card Game™, the first-ever legal-themed party game designed to make learning everyday legal concepts fun. He is also the CEO of JMK & Co., a boutique consultancy for aspiring graduate students and startups, and the co-founder of JDs & Cocktails, a platform fostering vibrant networking among NYC professionals.
A first-generation college graduate and American as well as Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Joseph is committed to mentorship and education. Over the past decade, he has tutored, taught, and mentored hundreds of students while founding multiple companies and gaining experience at Google, Fidelity Investments, top law & venture capital firms, and Fortune 500 companies. His impact has been recognized by Forbes, The Philadelphia Business Journal, Yahoo! News, PIX11 News, NYC.gov, The NYCHA Journal, SiriusXM, and other notable outlets.
Joseph holds a BA from John Jay College (CUNY), an MS in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and a JD and MBA from the University of Michigan.
In his spare time, Joseph enjoys playing video & tabletop games, including his creation Disbarred: The Card Game; indulging in fashion; creating social experiences through his NYC-based networking business, JDs & Cocktails; traveling; and discovering new technologies.
